The annual National Diversity & Inclusion Awards is calling for entries/nominations for Ireland’s only dedicated celebration of progress with Diversity & Inclusion (D&I).  #NDIA2024 returns with a new venue and more accolades on offer to recognise and reward the top people and initiatives with a gala evening on Thursday 8 February 2024 at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.  Presented by the Irish Centre for Diversity (irishcentrefordiversity.ie), the awards are free to enter and submissions are now open across 11 categories (Closing Date: Friday 20th October, 2023).  Full details www.NDIAwards.ie

Highlighting D&I’s place as a top business priority – the awards are supported by established leaders in D&I, who have returned for a second year including AIB, Aon, Cpl, Laya healthcare, Matheson, Musgrave, National Lottery and PublicJobs.ie.  They are joined by IDA Ireland and many of these organisations hold prestigious Investors in Diversity – Ireland’s premier D&I accreditation.  To ensure the integrity and impartiality of the awards, the sponsors are not able to enter and, along with the Irish Centre for Diversity have no involvement in the judging process.

The awards will recognise all areas of D&I excellence including Disability, Race & Ethnicity, Gender, LGBTQ+ and more plus ‘Advancing Social Inclusion in the workplace’ has been added as an all-new category.  Award submissions are invited from individuals, groups, businesses and organisations of all sizes and sectors and there are categories for leaders, employees, workplace initiatives and public sector bodies that are making a real difference in D&I for those around them.

The judging panel once again features leaders and experts in the D&I field.  Margot Slattery, Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion at ISS returns as the Chair and is once again joined by Senator Eileen Flynn; Mamobo Oguro, the multi-award-winning founder of Gorm Media; Maria Walsh, MEP; Siobhan Sweeney, Senior Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging – Element Materials Technology; Adam Harris, Founder & CEO – As I Am; Gavin Hennessy, Senior Diversity & Inclusion Manager – AXA Ireland; Shane O’Brien, Senior Manager & Regional Senior Lead HR – MongoDB; Simon Myciunka, CEO – Bauer Audio UK; Stephen Cluskey, CEO – Mobility Mojo and they are joined by Siobhán Cafferty, Implementation Manager – Generation Change – Careers After Conviction.

Caroline Tyler, Managing Director – Irish Centre for Diversity said: “We are excited to bring back the National Diversity & Inclusion Awards after the successful debut attracted over 150 high-calibre entries and set a very high bar.  Our annual celebration of the most influential, innovative and inspiring people working in Diversity & Inclusion in Ireland has evolved and grown bigger – and we have now included a new category – Advancing Social Inclusion – to recognise and acknowledge this.  Everyone benefits when best practice is shared, so we are looking forward to the return of the NDIA webinar series with D&I insights from the finalists and winners.  We’d like to thank the sponsors, who make the awards possible and who have already shared highlights from their D&I journey that everyone can learn from with a series of videos that are available on our website now.”

Commenting on her role as Chair of the Judging Panel, Margot Slattery said: “Enormous strides are being made with D&I in Ireland and the vital area is rightly being cemented as a priority by many companies across all sectors.  As a life-long advocate for Inclusion, I’m excited to see the initiatives that are being brought to fruition.  I look forward to recognising their achievements and I’m grateful that these awards will give them a platform to inspire others to follow their lead.”
